Is anyone doing Bamboo Bonzer Side-Runners for the Red-X system. I've checked the usual suspects (Marlin Bacon, Rainbow, True Ames) with no success.
Guys are making them for the Lockbox, which looks somewhat simmilar to the Red-X. Both have a tab on the base that goes into the board and a screw mechanism. The exception that the Red-X has a screw from the top vs Lockbox's little screw mechanism on the bottom. Does anyone know the difference in dims between the tabs on thefin bases. I was thinking I could maybe drill and throw a brass threaded insert in the top (base) of a lockbox fin if they're dims are close.
Big question; Why bother? For looks? Because they are NOT going to change the performance of a Bonzer. I guarantee it. Malcolm agrees with me. I’m no fan of molded plastic fins, like the Red X side fins, but they work just fine in this application. As Bonzer side fins with the Red X hardware they are bullet proof. The side fins on a Bonzer are more a part of the hull design rather than a performance enhancing component that flex characteristics has some bearing.
I snapped the center and was feeling guilty about abusing a board that's brought so much love. So I figured I'd give the whole cluster a facelift. Yep its not vital, just wondering if they're out there.
