Actually I think I’ll volunteer for banishment if the mods would care to do the deed.
this can be a big drain on mindspace and focus when there’s so many more important things to get done in life and work.
When my brother and I finally give up on this fantasy of playing around with petro-chemicals and power tools and throw every thing related to it away, alot of folk we know will be very happy. An actually things weren’t really all that bad when we bought our stuff used or off the rack, it just didn’t last as long as we liked. The ability to create things on your own can be very addicting and the ego boost that feeds it doesn’t help as well.
Sadly I just can’t see this place ever returning back to how it was in 2003-2004 when I first came across it and maybe that’s good because alot of others who were around back then moved on too, like Noodle, Holly(Delbert Pumpernickle), Mike Jones, Tube Dog, Platty and a host of others that seem to be pushing the envelope on all kinds of things back then.
Even the compsando bunch went underground for fear of giving away their secrets to the Mr. Wrong.
A maybe it is time to move on from what’s now considered swaylocks and find something a bit more embryonic in nature again… Mike’s Grain forum still has that sense of lost innocence there, woodheads are different anyway I guess…
Based on what I’ve learned from my work dealings,
once you’ve been hacked or pick up a virus
it’s best to throw the whole thing away including your past life
and start all over from scratch again
as you’ll never truly “repair” the damage done
and they keep coming back…
Take my word…
Sway’s unbridled success on this platform called the 'Net
like everything else will be its undoing. (ex Paypal, uTube, Google, Yahoo etc etc)
It’s a natural stage of evolution here.
Too much freedom leads to anarchy which then leads to privatization…
