Barnfield Wake Surfer

BadHoudini recently asked about Wake Surfers.  I was busy when the thread came up but had just finished a wake surfer for a customer.  I finally have a free moment to post photos so thought I would.

beautiful board, nice use of the "rainbow spectrum" too

Thanks Huck.  The customer requested Hawaiian graphic elements.  I adjusted and applied them to work with the overall design.  He lives in Canada normally but wanted the board to remind him of Hawaii.  Now he has moved to Manhatten Beach.

nice one bill  good to see you back with pics  good stuff ‘’

   cheers huie

Thanks huie.  I have been swamped with projects leaving little time to spend with my friends on Swaylocks.  The biggest being my boat.  I should be finished with it this month and then my life will ease up a bit, I hope!

Hi Bill,

Beautiful wake surf! Question… Did you keep the tail rocker flat and put slight nose rocker?  I have seen this in wake surfers with no fins. I’m just wondering your thoughts on wake surfer rocker as it relates to drive when fins are added? Cant? Toe?

Beautiful little weapon! Wake surfer smakeshurfer - Bet it’d go vert so fast & easy - a blast in some chest/head high rocky point !

Aloha mudybech

I kept the rocker pretty low.  Both nose and tail. I am at home so I don’t have the exact numbers with me but can provide them at a later time if you need them.

I also included several sets of fins including a very small keel fin for the center box.  I used ProBox so the cant is adjustable.  The toe in was less as the wide tail and short length would make it extreme if it was pointed at the nose, for example.

The customer had a stock production board from a well known company so I had somewhat of a base point to work from based on his familiarity with his existing board.  He has ridden the board and likes it but was in the middle of a move from Canada to LA.  If you zoom in on the Deck Tail Logos, you might be able to guess who he is!

Aloha Bud

I was thinking the same thing as I was making it.  But it is pretty thin and wouldn’t be easy to catch waves in a crowd!!

very nice Bill

outstanding!

Bill;
Looks great! Hope the ticker is well and you are riding again. I don’t know if I would be glassing tho. At our age we don’t need to be around that stuff! LOL. Who did the airbrush? Looks like a great fade from the late 80’s. Thanks for posting up, Sways needs more of this! Thanks
again, BKB
