Barnfield will be in the UK

Hey Bill,

Don’t believe what they tell you about the weather and surf-it’s been overhead and offshore for the last few days with brilliant sunshine!

Check this pic (if it works)

London is great if you have a load of spare cash you want to get shot of (remember ‘Brewster’s Millions’?) So if you are keen to see a bit of country and possibly some surf, then head Southwest.

Thanks for the tips Strychniine.  That photo was tempting.  But this trip I am with my wife and will mostly be doing the tourist thing.  Since this trip is short and we are heading to Scotland for part of it, I won’t have time to head south this time.

While in London or nearby, I can squeeze in some time to get together with Swaylockers or others interested, for a few hours.  Depending on facilities, and those interested, we could do some board building instruction or just hang out and talk…   I leave it up to you guys to figure out what would work.  This would be sometime in the week after the 17th of June.

I would also appreciate any suggestions for sightseeing around London.

Ok.Bill, how long are you staying in London ? Is this your first time in London? Also are there interests which you have read / heard about you want to experience .London is the centre of world theatre,do you or your wife have any preferences or would like to be recommended?

Any London, or close, Swaylock folk who would like to take Bills offer up keep in contact . Not quite sure how we organize a get together when we have never got together before . Suggestions please!

cheers

Hi, How about meeting in Paddington station, under the clock with a red Carnation in our Lapels, that seems to work.!  Or meet on the plinth of Nelsons column at a certain time, That way Bill can look up one of our national heroes.

Bill as for London site seeing i would recommend the National gallery, the science museum and the V & A. All these are free. The London Eye is worth a look! If you like Architecture you can see loads. If you wanna see a Castle go to the tower of London but take your credit card.

I would go to Kew Gardens and find the little house near the flag pole that has Wainscote paneling around the rooms with every board a different species of wood, but that's me cant seem to keep away from the stuff.

Anyway I'd like to meet up with Bill for a couple of Jars and a chin wag. I'd probably do all the listening taking notes in my little blue book.

                                                         Cheers Martin
