Was given some raw unwoven basalt to use in a specific board …I thought it was a bit difficult for hand laminating…can come apart when wet , under too much squeegee use , kinda like chopped strand mat . There is a woven hybrid available with innegra , which IMO defeats the purpose . I’d rather use one , or the other…still waiting on feedback on the finished board.
Just received my basalt cloth. Rather thin strands, but rather tightly woven. feels kinda sturdy.
Once I receive my epoxy (I only build boards once a year, so I prefer ordering on demand instead of stocking it at home), I’ll do some test patches and see how it wraps around rails and how it cuts.
Would have thought there would be a fibre based sticky plaster to stick on the edge of glass to stop it fraying, yet can be left in place instead of having to cut lap…
I’ll see how baldy it frays when I’m doing my test patches. I was just assuming I’d have to cutlap, because it usually comes apart pretty easily.

Basalt Quad Ax
Basalt Hex Weave
hey there, I sure came across your products, but as I am located in Germany, shipping and customs would have killed me. I especially liked that basalt hex weave fabric.
Thanks Sidabed
We have a few buying it over in that part of the world. If you send us a message, we can give you the price without Tax as in Australia if you export the tax reduces. it might help with the price.
Working on a few more basalt styles in the next few months! so update this thread later with pics
Cheers
