...been getting any lately ?

...how's it been for you , recently ?

  cheers !

that's a rather personal question Ben.

August is the absolute worst around here.  The souths destroy what remains of the sand bars so even if there is a decent swell it sucks.  Hate it.  I have to make a drive to get anything decent.   Then I have to deal with the summer crowds.  Or, take a chance on more remote areas, but it’s  pretty much an all day search and surf.  Mike

Rooster, and add the $$$ in gas to commit to that all day search = dry spell blues for me.

I went body surfing in the freezing shore break here (in San Francisco) and it was fun, gotta try to do more of that.

no and uh no

warthawg,

Yup, the cost of gas hurts.  I could do more snorkeling and stuff like that.  Maybe I will.  It’s been foggy and miserable right on the coast too.  Nice, sunny and warm at my house.  Mike

Last surf was magic, but since then nothing. I should get something im the next few days though. Hope to get my 5'8'' wet, after surfing nothing but my longboard for a while.

I went for a drive on Saturday and got very good, but crowded Ano Nuevo.

Pic is from the drive down south.

nice shot Ian, I love that drive.

it's been great in sydney lately. plenty of swell and ok banks in my home area cronulla.

just not enough time away from work to enjoy it!

PS. i find it funny that you american's complain about the price of gas, and drive big gas guzzling trucks! This morning I filled up and the price of petrol (gas) was $1.47 /litre ... that equates to $5.58 per gallon! think about us aussies next time you complain about gas. And I shouldn;t complain, I here people in Europe pay over $2/litre!!!!

Ian…Ano Nuevo, really !?  Last time there, I saw two seals ( I knew they were seals because the heads were still attached) by the shore, with enough damage to make at least one Swaylocker proud.  Yea, almost drove south to P.Point this AM, just to see a decent wave.

Wow, we pay just about $4.00 US for a gallon of lowest cost gas, about 20 cents more for the higher octane. We think we’re paying a lot.

Had a fun surf this early AM with a good bro; small waves, low key and no pressure; rode the 9-0 leashless and luckily only had a couple short swims; gotta start shaking the rust out in prep for a 5-10 mini sim working itʻs way through the processes; plan to repeat the same movie tomorrow…see ya!!!

Been riding my latest “short,” 7’6", board…  Great experience experimenting with my 4way fin boxes… Some good asymetrical action for the small summer time surf.  Mostly, after coming off a serious back injury, six weeks out April till June, then a broken/torn up finger, more weeks out (mostly… I caught a couple decent days with splint and much tape action.), I’m just trying to remember how to stand up in a timely manner.

So yes, small summer time practice and fun…  lots of fun…

Thanks for asking Chipper!

pirate,  Yah, your right.  I like my big gas guzzling truck, though.  And, it’s paid off.  I should probably get rid of it now and buy a gas sipper before we are paying Aussie prices and can’t give it away.  I’ll miss the rumble of the V-8’s.  Mike

Amen Mike. I'll miss 'em too...

I haven't owned a truck in a few years and it still doesn't feel right.

haha

yah, right around the corner from where they film segments for shark week. =)

Hey pirate! My V8 work truck(only vehicle) gets 13 - 18 mpg. I average 70.00 a week in driving for work, surf, etc in my "so cal" home town. If I had full time work at decent wages I would gladly pay twice that. Oh and it's flat too!

is that bad? i think in litres per 100km here! when i was living in BC i had to buy myself a big old chevy van with a 350 V8... the thing was costing me $100 for every 250 miles!

my tank is about 70 litres and i drive a smaller truck thats the aussie equivalent of a chevy colorado. it costs me aout $100 to fill up, which is once a week normally, but luckily i am working on a site close to home at the moment so only filling up once every 3 weeks. but i have no problem filling up to chase waves when its good.
