beetroot

following on from my post ‘organic colour schemes’ in the cleanlines ‘marbled board’ thread of 'Coque’s …

has anyone ever used [canned] beetroot juice as a tint in their boards ?

if so , how were the results ?

cheers !

ben

…yes , this post IS 100 % serious…

and any other vegetables or fruits people have ever used too in tinting / colouring boards or fins , I would be keen to see the results , please …

My wife has used it as a cloth dye. Worked fine. I suppose it has been so for ten thousand years. Probably better as a base line for perfume, but a surf board would be an interesting project. While you are at it you might want to read “Jitterbug Perfume”, by Tom Robbins. The book turns on the history of beets. Good to see you are having fun.

You’ll only find it on aussie salad sangas!!! Australians love beetroot.

I don’t see any reason not to try it, particularly on foam. Not sure how long it would last against fading though.

Worth a test. It seems to stain everything else it touches!!

well , Greg …you know what us Aussies say eh ?

“what is the difference between an egg and beetroot ?”

…give up ?

"…you can beat an egg , but you CAN’T beat a ROOT ! "

have a nice day , and greetings from kazakhstan !
