Beginner shaper looking for fiberglass guidance

It’s common knowledge on this site and by anyone who has hand shaped a board that the deeper you cut into polyurethane the softer it gets.  Except for the foams McDing mentioned. US Blanks are not as bad as Clark.  Just my annecdotal observation.

Coolbro, I’m confused. You said in your initial post you were going to shape your second board then mention below it is being cut by someone else.

Are coolbro and anhauser the same person just trolling cuz they re ‘board’?  Just wondering.  Mike

a dicussion about glass schedules is good… There is no right or wrong answer… lots of waves out there.

…arrogrant is earned… you earned it.

I can sneeze on a close tolerance blank and it will be shaped. Let’s not get too proud that we use close tolerance blanks.

Start a build thread pal… no one shooting below the hip over here…might want to read your own stuff. low ball,Really?

… Small guy on a sub 6 foot board I would start with a 4 bottom and a 4x4 deck… But those guys don’t come to me… Guys that come my way are sick and tired of arrogant board builders that think every surfer is small and should ride a small board. No room for glass slippers and super models over here…

tryed to post up a link… plenty of Stingray build threads out there…try a search    …6-1 x 19 x 2 3/8…12 days…

Stingray.

Huck - he is totally right. 4+4 only - no wax and no tail pads either - that’s all ridiculous extra weight.

And on a further note skip the hotcoat too. Total insanity…

Paddle out in a pair of these and your gold. SUPER grip.
