I was looking around my dads garage and spotted this old heavy duty belt sander. Im tempted to use it since the fact that my planer just crapped out on me today. Its an old craftsman one. Its legitimate. But I dont know if I should use it as a way to make up for a lost planer. Any help would be appreciated.
Actually from reading on other posts about the belt sander, it doesnt seem worth even in the slightest. Im gunna save my money and buy a good planer. That seems the best idea.
Good Idea, the dust would have eventually killed the Craftsman anyway.

Hey - I just broke the 1,000 point barrier!
On my wood boards I use a belt sander A LOT - more even than the planer. Its my shaping tool of choice! On a foam board - not so much hahaha.
