Bert Burger - Glassing help

Hey Bert,

Rather than phone you and put you on the spot I’ll ask the question here.

I’m making hollow timber boards up in perth, my third board and current project is a 6’1 fish, which is ready for glassing.

The glassing on my first 2 boards leaves a bit to be desired and am looking for a bit of tuition, paid of coarse…

Tafe doesnt seem to run a glassing course!

Would you be interested in helping me out? I’ve got glassing 101, but in my mind it really glosses over the finer points (pardon the pun). I’m thinking I could get up to speed if I could watch a pro like yourself in action and get a few tips and techniques.

What do you reckon, no pressure

cheers

Gray

hm??

i try and avoid extra people in the workshop…but maybe we can do a deal ,

give you a broom and a vacumn cleaner, and you can hang around on glassing day…give me a ring so we can work out which day is best …

regards

BERT

Cheers Bert, I’m handy with a broom and can operate a kettle!

I’ll give you a call next week for a chat.

I’m off to the shed to make a couple of fins for the fish. BTW great thread on fin construction, pictures really nail the process.

thanks in advance

Gray
