Need help. Would like to use disposable ones. Thanks.

Isotoners.

You can check www.ansellpro.com > specware online chem hand protection. In the past they’ve had a long list of chemicals to choose from for their gloves.

throw away = inexpensive

I use the ACE brand throw aways

Vinyl disposable gloves seem to work best my .02

I use blue nitriles which seem to hold up better than the latex ones which are cheaper.

I agree … nitriles. BTW, nebver use reusable gloves. People wash them off with acetone and the acetone goes right through the things bringing all those nice toxins with it.

Thanks for reply. I’ve been trying different nitriles and latex and after your reply

send for some of those BlackLighting nitriles. They seem the most durable,(check out web site) and the distributor, Batteries Northwest, will repack

in flat rate priority box to get cs. price and make gloves the same price or less

than what I get blue ones for here. I’ll use 2 pairs at once, black on bottom and

blue ones or latex on top. The nitriles slide over the glass while the latex get

hung up so depends on what I’m doing. Then if I need a clean hand or get a tear, it’s easy enough to replace, or just finish off in black ones.

Thanks again.

Costco has nice nitrile gloves in 2 packs that are the cheapest/nicest I could find. The larges are plenty big for my xl hams.

Hey Greg I thought the nitrile gloves stop the acetone?

If you get the right gloves, reusable ones are good for acetone activities

Neoprene gloves are rated for acetone.

I found I always got resin/acetone on my wrists, cos of the short length of the disposable gloves.

Now I have these elbow length neoprene ones, super durable, many layers

I still laminate wilth MedX High Risk Blue latex disposables, but anything involving acetone I go for the big guns

The High Risk ones seem to be the only disposable that don’t shred at the drop of a hat

best disposable glove for aluzine epoxy resin

Sounds like simple question…

I’m not an expert…I went out to the garage to see what I had…Latex 8 mil… I think thickness is just as important as material. I’ve used cheap thin gloves in the past…

Also keep in mind that mild contact during glassing is different than swimming in a pool of resin. Wash your hands often…

Try using this: http://www.ansellpro.com/specware/guide.asp . You’re not gonna find your specific epoxy on there such look up the ingredients on the MSDS.
