I don’t know if you guys have seen any of the semi-reliable swell predictor websites recently. I’ve checked 3 of them because I couldn’t believe what I was saw.
All you Central and NorCal guys, buckle up. The sites are predicting 20 ft. plus in your area in a couple days. Wetsand was predicting set heights of 30+. The whole Eastern Pacific is going to get it. Except Socal. We’re in the shadow of Point Conception.
I find it hard to believe but that’s what their maps are saying. I checked NOAAs maps too. All of them are precicting big.
Yup, Nor Cal is gonna get giant surf but unfortunately the winds will be onshore… Waves here are around 25’+ + faces with strong side off winds but great conditions for the West side which should have 15-20’ faces… Heading out to dawn patrol in 1/2 an hour… Ahwoooooo!!!
Funny, earlier today I was wondering about taking a round the world surfari some time and I was googling possible destinations… came across an interesting page…
yeah, it’s supposed to bring some weather with it so i’m not getting too excited yet. I’d love to get some macking overhead waves though, that’s for sure. Just hope the conditions don’t poop out.
I’m with Matt…the new expanded Surfline reports has one for Stanley’s and is calling for 6-9 foot surf Friday. I hate to doubt the accuracy of that report and all the others. However, a more precise surf report for Stanley’s would be “Flattened for almost 35 years”. But what do I know? Everybody come on up or down and check it out.
Still, new wax on the board just in case it stops being nearly flat here…
I’m with you guys. I’ll believe it when I see it. I’ve been dissappointed by Wetnoodle, um sand, more than once. But based on Carve’s Island report and other supporting reports, should be pretty big. I mean if they’re saying 24 ft. and they’re off by 1/3, we’re still talking 16 ft.
Hope you guys get it good with good weather and all. Stay safe and pull out the rhino chasers.
Yup! Gonna wax up a couple of shortboards tonight…just in case it does hit. If it doesn’t fill in as projected…i’ll still have those beautiful longboards to play with.
Some water moving around this morning but only showing as tracers in the tide. Howling west wind started a couple of hours ago…Gonna put a bump on it for the hordes tomorrow.
Surfed twice today at two different spots (8th Street in Del Mar at 5:30am and the Pier in Ocean Beach, San Diego around 1:30pm)…this morning was chest high on the occasional “sneaker sets”, and O.B. was about the same…Tomorrow…tomorrow…maybe?
