Anyone know or heard of modifying a board bag to fit a longer board? I recently shelled out over $100 for a 9’6 padded bag for my last two boards (9-3 & 9-6). Now my addiction to stockpiling shapes is getting to me. For my next board, I’m planning to shape either a 10-0, 10-6 or 11-footer. I can’t decide. I don’t want to buy a new bag, but I don’t want my new board to get tortured during transportation. If I can get my current bag modified, I’ll just go with a 10-0 or 10-6. If I cannot get it lengthened, I might as well go for the barge, right? Any thoughts on big boards and big bags? Any leads for industrial stitchers? Danke…deeb…
Do you own a sewing machine? If so, you could make two drawstring bags. Make one bag of quilted material. You can buy it at a fabric store. Put the first bag over your board to measure and cut an over-bag. Make the over-bag out of 8 oz or 10 oz canvas. You would want to alternate ends for the drawstring so that each end of the board would always be protected. You could use the canvas bag around home, and both bags for travel. …just a thought. -Noodle>>> Anyone know or heard of modifying a board bag to fit a longer board? Danke…deeb… Check out some websites for sail boards…they are almost sure to have bags up to 12-13 ft. JC
