Bing Lightweight fin help please

Hi, I recently acquired a 9’9 bing lightweight square tail step deck shaped by Mike Eaton, i’m assuming in the nineties.

Two questions:

Anyone have a better idea when it might have been shaped?

I don’t know when Eaton was shaping Bings

Anyone know what type of fin it’s supposed to be supplied with?

I have a 10.5 wingnut sweep in there at the moment but i have a suspicion that it should have something a bit more pivoty.

I’m sure one of you can help!

p.s. this is my first post so please be nice!

Jory,

Send the serial # to Bing @ “Bing Copeland [bcopeland@sunvalley.net]” he will give you a birthdate. Take a look at their website, lots of great info and pictures. www.classicbingsurfboards.com

Check this out, our vintage 9’9" lightweight had the wrong fin glassed in, Gene had a glass on to replace it. These are for fin boxes- the ligthweight fin is the dagger/pivot fin. Enjoy.
