i was wondering if anyone happened to have the numbers to a bing noserider outline. Lets say every 6-12 inches down the board? Preferably 9’6 to a 9’10 model?
Any help appreciated.

mmmm…what i wouldn’t give for precise specs. on a '67 nuuhiwa light weight…pin tail…sigh
solo surfer i saw your website that you had one for a bit of time. you didnt happen to snag any measurements off of it did you?
thanks
Austin S
I have a pristeen '67 Bing Nuuhiwa pintail lightweight noserider. What specific measurements do you need?
hey ron if you could measure starting at the tail every 6 inches write the width out from one side of the stringer to the rail all the way to the nose. if so that would be AWESOME.
Thanks
Austin s
i love you (in a completely non-sexual way). you wouldn’t happen to live in florida, would you. i’ve never had the privilege of seeing one in person. i’d like to hold it…caress it…;aiugfiljnaldkjfn okay, i’ll stop now.
like austin said, if you could get measurements every 6" along the way, that would be SOOOOOO awesome. also, for precision around the key spots at the nose and tail, every 3" on the first and last foot of the board would be even better. also, what length is the board? if it isn’t an even 6"-length board, another measurement at the center would be most helpful.
do you ride it, or is it just for nostalgia. oh…what i wouldn’t give…
I’ll have the info posted later today.
i’m on the edge of my seat…just waiting for the “you’ve got mail” telling me that there’s been a reply to this thread…giggling like a schoolgirl. okay, maybe not giggling like a schoolgirl. oh, i can’t lie…i am giggling…but it’s a very manly giggle, i assure you.
Okay, here are the measurements and a picture (sorry about the picture, didn’t have time, should have it when I moved the board to measure it). The board is exactly 9’6". The measurements begin at the nose in 3 inch increments until 1 foot, then again by 3’s for the last 12 inches at the tail. Numbers on the left are the positions downward, on the right are the widths from the center of the stringer:
At 3 inches, 5 1/2 wide
6 7
9 8 1/4
12 8 3/4
At 2 feet, 10 1/4 inches
3 10 3/4
4 11
5 11 1/4
6 11
7 10 3/8
8 8 3/4
8'6" 7 1/4
8'9" 6 1/4
9 5
9'3" 3 1/4
9'6" tip of pintail
The picture wouldn’t upload for some reason. I’ll keep trying.
Ron
That didn’t come out very well. I composed this with nice columns and spaces, for some reason the program on this site bunched the numbers together. Let me know if you have any questions.
Was it just me or was that thread a little…uh…hot. I felt like I was turning the pages working towards the centerfold. If the numbers you posted were turning me on so much, I’ll need to control myself for the picture.
Now I understand why mathemeticians say numbers are sexy.
Did I just type that out loud?
Ron,
Thanks for some very special information.I was wondering if you could complete the hat trick and provide the nose/tail rocker measurements, as well as the thickness throughout the board. Does it have a rolled bottom?
Cheers
wow, dude…that is SOOOO much better than porn. anyhow, as someone else said, rocker and thickness measurements would be GREAT. as for pics, i’d love to see yours, but this will just have to tide everyone over 'til you get some pix up:
It appears that the file size for the photo is too large (345 kb) and I’m not able to compress it, so I can’t post it. If anyone wants an email, I’ll be able to do that without difficulty. If you are interested, please provide proof that you’re over 18. I’ll provide the other dimensions tomorrow.
I may have a spin templet from a light weight. The person that I got it from did not know what size it was. Let me know if you want a copy. I have often tried to start a templet swap. What do you have in the 9’ range?
i’d love to see the pic if you can e-mail it to me (soulstice@gmail.com). i think i speak for everyone when i say that i really appreciate you going through all this trouble just to get these dimensions for us…you rock!
as for a template swap, it sounds great to me…i’ve got a Robert August “What I Ride” at 9’0" and 9’4"…along with a few other custom shapes. in about 2 or 3 weeks, i should be making a template from the legendary “Da Cat” (9’2"), an old Dewey Weber, along with a whole bunch of other classics. and maybe some Joel Tudors and Surfboards Hawaii shapes, too. (i’m just going to raid my local surf shop before it opens and go nuts!). when i get a nice little collection together, i’ll post some pix.
Here’s the photo. Next to it are a very old Hobie and a Da Cat. The Bing is very clean, a small stain in the middle of the forward deck and that’s all, much whiter than it appears in this picture.
Soulstice, I can’t read your last post, because there is a picture covering it. If you want to exchange templet tracings, Im interested in the “Da Cat”. You can reach me at
Today was a late one for me, not able to get the rocker info you requested, but I will try to post it tomorrow. Brandon, how were you able to attach the pictures?
