A lot of people fancy using these dark evenings to do bits and bobs. I get a lot of emails from people who want to make their own boards. They will pass them to their representives in Ireland for a speedy delivery. RULES 1. Board must be built at home, at an amatuer level. 2. Some professional advice can be asked for, but in the interests of fairness, it should be your own work. 3. The boards will be judged on how well they are made, Finish, Methood etc. ie this is a surfboard comp, not a surf comp. 4. At LEAST 1 part of the kit, Cloth, Blank or Resin MUST be ordered from Seabase- This is to verify a home built kit.(http://www.seabase.ltd.uk) 5.Final Entry Date:23.59Z March 17th 2003 6.Entries to be submitted by email and MUST include photos and an account of How the board was built. 7.Entrants must be normally resident in Ireland or Northern Ireland. 8.If possible, a selection of finalist entries will be physically viewed. 9.The winner gets a box of goodies,including, at least Tail Pad, Leash, T-shirt, Camera, Ding Repair Kit, Years subscription to Surfers Path or Carve. One set of 4wfs fins,Plugs and installation kit, or, if the board is made using 4wfs, 2 sets of fins. (You can order this system from ) IF the winner is a longboard, a suitable fin for a Bahini Box slot will be provided instead. Simon: Just to add a little fuel to the fire of your nightmares. What about people of Irish heritage. There are probably more folks with Irish roots in North America than in all of Ireland. Some, such as Pat Curren, have been known to shape a board or two. Take care and have fun. Patrick
