So Swaylockers, I am really thinking about painting a large black and white painting straight onto the shaped blank, and then glassing with a blue resin tint. Has anyone had any experience with this? Will the acrylic paint bleed during the glassing process?
Paint may not bleed but the white will become blue after you lay the resin over it. Black will still look black
haha yes i assumed the white would not remain white. Is that a definite no for the bleeding of the paint? I dont want to put the effort in and create a smudge!
Acrylic paint is usually ok. To be safe you can get a spray bomb of clear acrylic and put a light coat over the art.
I’ve glassed over acrylic paint plenty with no bleed problems - I glass with epoxy 'tho. Oh yeah, sometimes seal it with polycrylic too, no problems (like when I use a sharpie, which sometimes will bleed under epoxy).
