blanks and resin

hey guys i was just wondering where you all get you blanks? the cheapest i’ve found is $48 but i’m on a low budget and am trying to get it maybe even cheaper. by the way heres the link to where i found foam http://wncsurf.com/sunshop/index.php?l=product_list&c=1

also, where do you all get your resin? it soo expensive im just trying to figure out how to make a board for as cheap as i can. some guy on here was talking about a shaping price list pdf but i searched for it and couldnt find it. if anyone has the link to it that’d be great. thanks, novasurfer

Where are you located, and are you looking for EPS or polyurethane? There are a number of distributors around the country that carry multiple lines of blanks. If you let us know where you are, someone here can probably steer you in the right direction.

Some of the cheapest foam I’ve seen is buying EPS insulation sheets at Home Depot and going from there. Check out the Project Frog thread…

Y’know, you can get a used board in decent shape for way less that it’ll cost to make one. Then you can learn to patch too.

im in Northern VA. and i was thinking about eps but since the resin is so expensive im thinking PU w/ whjatevere resin you can use w/ PU blanks cuase i heard its cheaper. PU is the same as polyurethane right?

honolulu- i would do that but i want to learn from start to finish the whole process and i’d rather be able to do my own board design.

Just a suggestion here but have you considered a ply-wood hollow. This works out pretty cheap if you have a good wod yard near. Most folk will tell you that you need to glass wood with epoxy, I have used poly resin on all four of mine and had no issues yet (apart from number 3 gassing loads of bubbles into the resin). Loads of posts on here about these.

i contemplated that but i’m nowhere near patient enough to do that… thanks for the suggestion though.
