Bleeding paint

I apologize if this topic has been posted before; I haven’t perused Swaylocks in awhile. My problem: I just shaped a board for my nephew who (being the son of a Marine) wanted a “big American flag” painted on the deck and bottom. The paint job came out fine but when I laminated the bottom, the damn red paint (for some reason the blue was not affected) bled all over the place leaving pink streaks all over the white stripes in the flag and along the rails which I didn’t paint! My question: Is there anything I can do to fix this short of stripping the glass off and re-lamming it? Is it possible to maybe paint over the pink with white paint before I hot coat the board or will this only make a bigger mess? What can I do to prevent this in the future? (I’ve had minor problems with this in the past but because I’m not big on graphics I’ve never had more than a few smudges here and there). Please help; there’s nothing less patriotic than a PINK! American flag!

Please help; there’s nothing less > patriotic than a PINK! American flag! The problem is your paint. I always do a patch test on a small piece of foam, then see how the resin reacts. In the future you will have to find a new type of red paint. The only way I can think to fix this problem is to do a cheater coat of hot coat over the board with a squeege, then lightly sand this to scuff the hot coat, preceed to repaint the board the colors you want, i.e. American flag and white around the area, or just do the white first to see if that will look ok. After this do your hot coat. Be extra careful when you sand the board or else you will go back through the paint and have to do it again!

I just started using krylon clear acryllic spray. Seems to work fine. Just spray over paint and let dry. I actually posted a similar question a while back and that is where I got the info.
