Well, it was a bunch of fun and i learned a ton, next time i’ll put the tint in the lam and not the hotcoat.

Great job, and keep them coming.
Nice gloss, what did you use?
And what happened when you tinted the hotcoat? Is it the light/whitish spots I see?
when you tint a hotcoat and sand through it, the color goes away, so your color in the end comes out really blotchy and not one uniform color, like you get when you tint the lam, because the cloth can only take in so much resin, it keeps the color pretty well even.
Nice job!
Gloss was just sanding resin
yeah, there were some high spots that when i sanded, went all the way through the hot coat, but it gives it a bit of a camo look i guess
yellow on the bottom kicked too soon and i ended up with about 1/4 inch of hotcoat on one side that had to be ground down with 80 grit belt sander for an hour or two
Oh, and thanks for the positive responses
from my wife after I finished making the board
“I wanted something wider!!! I don’t think I’m going to like it, you can ride it…”
and when she got done riding it for the first time
“This is my board, you can’t ride it…I love it”
Just because it is ugly, doesn’t mean it doesn’t surf well i guess
Thank you to all again, Swaylocks was my major inspiration
