board age/value

my brother bought this board for $30 and was wondering the age, or value of it

Its new to him and its worth $30

What board? Is there supposed to be a photo included with your query?

sorry forgot to post pics, here they are

Small, sideways photos don’t help a whole lot.

But, I’d say it’s not very old, and not worth much. Can’t really tell what condition it’s in, by the pics.

$30 sounds about right.

Minard, 1993, G&S San Diego. He still shapes. Looks good, looks like you got a great deal.

What’s it worth, anywhere from $10.00 at the swap meet, to $175.00 on e-bay.

I’m not seeing the boards from the 80’s-90’s being collectable yet, hold on to it for another 20 years and it might be worth more.

Were still trying to finish up with the 60’s and start working on the boards from the 70’s.

Think about it this way most guys who start collecting are around 35 to 50. Think about the time frame they were in there glory days of surfing something like 18-23 years old…Those are the board the guys want, guys want the boards they couldn’t afford when they were kids. Bolt, Brewer, Sunset, for the new crew. Hobie, Velzy, Noll, Jacob for the older crew etc. So now the young crew has some disposable income and they start snaching up the boards they wanted when they were young…Nostalgia sells. Most of the good 60’s boards have been snached up, or are so over priced. So we are now turning to the boards of the 70’s

You have a nice board there, but it has a few more years to obtain the collectable status. If it survives you and your brother surfing it…and god forbid you don’t hack the nose off of it and reshape it like the black magic model, It should be worth something someday.
