I was just wondering what kind of input could be offered in regards to moving to Spain and finding work and good surf. I am moving from hawaii and I got enough experience from working all around oahu to where I feel like I could handle whatever kind of standards that would be held in the shops there, but I’m not sure where and how. And I was also wondering if anyone has any idea as to the best route to take to make sure I can stay there for an extended period of time. Anything that can be said about this would be great. Was thinking of trying to open a glass shop with some of the local guys, is that possible? Thanks
Can you speak Spanish ? the surf is mostly up north around San Sebastian next to France lots of board shops up there , if you worked in Hi and can prove it , it will be an in for you , but I must tell you there are some very good glassers there so you need to bring your A game . As to opening a shop , Spain has dire financial problems at the moment , if you are bringing money in and especially if you employ someone and go into bus with locals you will likely be welcomed . Its a great place and has great surf , have fun. ps , if you love it and want to stay , marry a Spanish girl .
