Hi I’m new to this forum. My name in Paul, I live in Greece and i’m currently 23.
I’ve got a fellow carpenter who’s willing to help me create a board. I also have access to carbon fibre and glassfibre. If I was going to do a normal bodyboard, I could just shape it out of bluefoam and just laminate it all in one of two fibres; no plastic underside needed or anything?
Does any one have blueprints for a body-board? However I also found this board design (which seems to be a fusion between a surfboard and body-board): http://willeysurf.com/pages/the-answer. Im currently trying to figure out the dimensions of it on sketchup…
Cheers; yeah I do suppose if the board slams on you or you slip while standing up it would hurt. So I will definetly take advice on the raisin; as we wern’t so sure what to use for that part.
Well ths is what we have for now design wise; it just seems to be really thin at the edges though. Were also thinking about replicating the canel design but we will see (Or we may just add thins).
We might build more then one board, depends on how much stuff we have left over. The twin fish design does seam really nice. We also tempted to try some weird stuff. But weird stuff might make the board sink.
I remember seeing a design of a surfboard; which consited of an lasercut elements of cardboard; then everything was laminated with fibreglass.
I’m six two x 210lbs and when I was 34 I was able to actually stand up on a kneeboard! But, yeah belly board on it, stand up -whatever!? Your square tail might even be cool?! Try it. Copy rails you like. Jim
