hi, I am looking to shape something like resource#199 board… it is in the 6ft catagory, only I want something like 6’1’’ or so. what do you guys think would be some good dimensions? thanks…Sean
To give you some real specs for you board you need to give us some other information. Your weight, experience, normal wave conditions, regular or goofy foot, etc. My clients are amazed at the amount of questions I ask them to fit the board just right for them. Sure you can pick something off the rack but wouldn’t you rather have a custom made suit!
Hi SOS, I looked that board up…pretty cool. It’s a 6’4, but you want a 6’1, so draw out a 6’1 and use the same dimensions as that board, or trim it down no more than an 1/8" in all. Since you’re only talking about 3" difference in length, you should be fine. Connect the points and attempt a natural looking curve. Use that picture as a guide. Just a note when you start planing to thickness: depending on your weight, you may want to bump up the thickness. I don’t have a Clark catalog in front of me, but if memory serves me right the 6’2"C would be a good choice blank to get. Good luck.
