Hey Paul J., Did you get the literary email from “gotrich?” Surfboard Fin Brainstorms: A) So last evening about twigh light I’m finishing up a 10-hour plumbing jag, which to my delight went like clockwork and I’m packin’ up. I’m in a redwood grove in the S.C. Mountains and the bats are out on their evening jaunt above the clearing. Silhouetted against the sky is a wing pattern that it occurs to me will drive a board into the tightest turns imaginable. You talk about you power carve 360s, well I think this will turn a few heads as soon as I work out the template foil and get it on one my buddies boards along with one of my own. It’ll be something for small wave performance. I’ll send you the template in an attachment via email if you’d like as soon as I have it finished. B) The other evening I’m sitting around with the Mel’s. John just got back from an off shore tuna fishing trip. And I’m looking at all these tuna tails on the web projecting from the stern of the charter board. This morning I’m thinking about how my 7’9"x 19.75" Natural curves surfs with the fin combo I built for it and I come up with an idea for a twin/stabilizer set up that I think will really jazz the performance up a level or three. Right now it’s all in my head but I’m going to use the http://www.trueames.com/l-flex.htm template at about 6.5" in future rail boxes (Carbon fiber epoxy/ foam construction) and a template of my own I call “Orca” as a 3 inch center stabilizer. I’ll send you some templates (I have several that push the edge a little) in attachments if you’d like to your goofy email address. Mahalo, Rich
