Board Recommendations

Well that lucky time of year swings round, and its tax return time! What better way to blow re-gained tax then on a surfboard i say.

I’m looking at buying a board for waist to head high waves, im 5’10 and about 70kgs.

I’m after a really good aerial board, my last few have been damping my (not so often) airs and i just wanna zip!

I’m thinking 6’0 x 19 x 2.5. But i’m not really sure about the tail shape? It’s mainly for beach breaks but i want it to be compatible with a little bigger waves…

I’ve usually make my boards, but i’ve never bought a brand newy thought i’d try it out.

Whats the go? I’ve got a few options:

1.) Go to my local shaper and get a custom PU?

2.) Maybe spend the cash on some board from the store like a surftech or epoxy similar ??

Any help is much appreciated.

Cheers

g’day [evening] Ant !

having watched you surf , I’d say you ‘could’ go narrower and thinner !

Tail ?

…a narrow rounded square , maybe , to still sit in those scarbs tubes , but also bust your airs when it’s smaller and fatter .

[I must come and photograph those airs you speak of , maybe you and pascal could do an airshow for me !]

Colin is probably around your size and weight , and surfs city’s , so I’d say have a chat to him .

I’m going there tomorrow …

any reason why you’re not making it yourself ? just curious …

cheers

Lavz, I have a couple of suggestions .

Go a custom stick , money well spent…

shape wise! get some thing that is going to have a killer template to copy.

next , either something ordinary, eg 6’0 round square sorry I fell a sleep.

or a wing swallow channel bottom double concave 5 fin barracuda or go the 7’0 kalbarri special.

A new stick is the best present you can get your self. or the 650 for it can get a lot of blanks and resin.

fo-get the airs and tricks – get a mat.
