I did both bottoms…Used just a knife…
I laid out the altrnating veneers in big pieces, then overlaid the smaller pattern pieces, trace cut them, then took the underlying piece and repeated the cutting / pasting process…The whole thing was done on a table…The whole thing was masking taped together then flipped and PSA sheeting was used to adhere it to the 1/8" luan ply that covered the frame…
The laps on that picture were cut laps…I tried to stay out of their way without telling them too much about how I would do it…Artists don’t listen anyway…
