Boards for Northern Sumatra

Bucket list trip in July. I’ll be on a boat in Northern Sumara for three weeks in late July

Now,I am not exactly a shortboarder. In fact I don’t ride the thrusters at all. I am not bad on a fish or something like a 7 foot single fin Type. Was wondering if anyone had any advice on what types of boards to shape for this trip. I am about 185 and would consider myself a capable surfer, though not an extraordinary one, but I am in in good shape. I’d like to bring a fish, perhaps a mid lenght, like 7’6"mini-mal, and maybe a something like a Christenson Mescaline or Dauntless model.

Any and all input would be greatly apprecaited

The Banyaks or Hinakos? Big difference…

Banyaks…Some of the breaks are: Cobra Logs, Bay of Plentylefts and rights, Migilas, M&Ms

Drew,

Ride what you are comfortable with. Ride what gives you confidence.

Opinions on boards are like butt holes…everybody has one.

Not too wide in the tail and as resin head says just stick to what gets you waves and you feel comfortable on, take a spare of your favourite one and a big wave board . The dauntless looks like a good option for bigger days… Im up there same time this year so see you there:) heres my quiver from a few years ago, just finishing my boards for this time so ill post a pic…  Im 68kg and 5’7"
