Bosch Cordless Planer (18v)

A quick review on mine.

Pros: Of course no cord, tangles, tripping, etc. The adjustment was O to 1/16 in less than a full knob turn - and pretty easy to turn without any modifications. It’s a very well made tool, laid out well, and comfortable to use.

Con: Battery life - I have two batteries but a third would be helpful. I was doing a shortboard and ran out of juice during clean up cuts. I’m pretty slow and someone with more experience could probably get away with only two batteries (but no less). The trigger lock is really annoying and will surely need modification.

Indifferent: The battery makes it a pretty heavy tool – especially in the rear. I only really noticed it when I was truing up my template but its weight might be a burden to some.

IMHO, for most folks it’s not going to replace corded models due to battery life and their expense ($). But, if you already own Bosch 18v products or not having a cord ways heavy enough, then maybe?
