Geez, i like those Fords... my buddy at work has one of the bullet nose Fords... what year were those? '50? '51? somewhere in there... he drops 351 Clevelands into every car he has... he's got too many projects and i offered to take it off his hands a few years back when it was still just a rolling chassis. no dice. now, it's a runner and looks good in that rat rod primer and moon hubcaps kind of way... i really like the looks of those... there is some year of Volvo that looks similar. everytime i see one i do a double take then get let down.

1949 and 1950, were single bullet. 1951 were double bullet. 1952/53/54 were new body style.
About eight hours into the race, the ''golden hour'' shots....
The #55 M3 lost some bodywork off the left front. He was hard on throttle at corner exit when the (supposedly) faster prototype inches ahead of him missed a shift. His splitter stayed intact, preserving enough of his aero effeciency to stay with leaders in GT class.
And one of the Peugot crew using a hotwire planer of some description to ''re-surface'' used slicks.
Long Beach CA is host to next American Le Mans Series event, coming up in two weeks (4/16/11).
they all have something in common
they go really fast and have wings in the front bumpers
Go to Long Beach and see how fast...
In racecar aero parlance, those are dive planes on front corners. A little extra downforce and setting up flow onto rest of car. It's a tradeoff between downforce and drag. Sound familiar?
Fluid dynamics and SOTA composites, I love this stuff.
The night portion of Sebring and the 10:30 pm finish.....
The factory Audi and Peugot prototype teams were upstaged by a privateer team running last years Peugot. The #10 ran a drama-free 12 hrs, while the factory teams' 4 cars all suffered some form of setback at one point or another.
One of the cool things about the ALMS series is the ''leader light'' system. There are three lights on the side of cars. If a car is in the top three of it's class, the lights indicate position: one light is first, two for second, and three for third. I really enjoyed watching the #55 M3 go from three lights to two as he passed a Corvette with 35 minutes left to secure BMW's 1-2 finish in the GT class. Yippee!
This thread has been dead for a while. So here is a vid of myself and my buddy engaging is some automotive fun.

Track time! If I had serious money I'd be doing that once a month. Hell, if I had serious money I would be racing lol.
It's not the $225 it costs for the time, it's the tire bill that would kill me. You will generally use up a set if you get a couple hours :(
Hey Mike
Yep, the parts bill is extensive. I was lucky, only had to replace brake pads, as the ones used on track turned to ash…literally. I saved an old set of dunlops, and used them for the day. Surprisingly the tires took less beating than I’d expected, I was able to drive home on them (2hr trip), with my daily tires in the boot.
What do you run on track days Mike?
I don't run anything lol, like I said; I can't afford it. The guys I know that do it are in a different tax bracket. It's about $1500/day total. I just sneak out there for a few laps when opportunities present. Here's us taking some tread off a set of ps2.
Out with one of the most boring cars in the world and in with the most popular sportscar in America 8D
My new “daily/track/honey im going surfing my 6” motor:
Its a 1990 Eunos Roadster (aka Miata or MX5)
1.6, 16 valve DOCH.
Interior is rattling like ive never heard before.
Currently brainstroming ideas of a bike rack and board rack.
Good for you!
Miata is the most-raced car in the world, there are series for them everywhere. Club racing at its best!
