Someone posted these pics on Facebook. They seemed to imply the board was made in 1963.
I think it is one of the later reproductions done a few years before Buzzy died. I know of no case where Trent signed any Surfboards Hawaiis in the 60s. Tail pic appears to be Jack Reeves initials.
You’re probably right. A later reproduction in which Buzzy and Brewer signed rice paper logos before the boards were glassed. Much the same as the “Da Cat” reproductions were done. And yes the JR is Jack Reeves. He glassed Brewers boards in Hawaii.
There is a very interesting YouTube video of Jack Reeves in his lam room. I think it is the one of him doing a clear. Jack talks about how he first came over to the Islands. Owl Chapman wanders in and out of frame adlibbing.
