Brian Bulkley EPS quad

Thought you guys would dig this! 6’ 3" X 20 X 2.7

2.5 LB Marko foam and Resin Research resin.

Baked it @ around 130 degrees for about 4 hours. Nice and hard and sanded real nice. Finished out just under 5.5 LBS. Can’t wait to get her in the water. Hopefully in the morning!

this is a beautiful board!

i’m picking up my new McPhee custom for my trip to Costa next week and our boards could be related, the stats are that close.

6’4"x19 1/2"x 2 1/2"

it’s got almost the same fin placement, but mine has a very slight double bump with an extra 5th fin box to experiment with.

it’s going to be a lot heavier too i bet. 6 oz bottom and a 6+4 oz deck.

is this a single into double/vee too?

just curious, what’s your height/weight?

let us know how it surfs. i bet it rocks.

Nice looks a bit like my quad. Which fins are you using? I’ve got the lb4s up front and the lb1s on the back to complement a set of griffin Quads. I had the LBs out in some overhead surf and they defiantly skipped a bit when I was doing a couple of backside bottom turn. They are loose in smaller surf though. The Griffs are drivey and seem to hold just fine but could be a bit looser (need to play with fin placement more)

JJR,

Is Brian B Global Glassing or does he have his boards glassed by them?

Dave_D

Lokbox,

I dig it. Do you know if Brian sealed the 2.5, and if so what method? NICE.

Brian shapes at OSI (oceanside surf industries) but gets a few glassed at other places like Global here and there. Blank was sealed (spackled) using the RR and cabosil mixture.

Great looking board. How does it ride?

Do you mind passing on the nose/tail measurements?

thanks!

Nice looking board. By the way have you sorted out a distributor in Australia yet?

I’m an old fan of BB … IMO one of the very best shapers in CA … doesn’t get nearly the attention he deserves.

It rides really good. Super loose and responsive but somehow lots of drive as well. Really likes quick beachbreak peaks.

Here’s another one of Brians boards but this one’s a thruster. My last trip to Peru.

And one of Brian back in the early 80’s at second reef pipeline.
