any one have any really good really strong ideas for fixing a shortboard that broke in half?
ANYONE???
There’s a book entitled “Ding Repair Scriptures” that goes over all kinds of ways to fix just about anything you can due to your board…including breaking it in half. While the writing style of the book jumps around a bit, I’ve found it to be a decent guide to fixing boards. I know Fiberglass Supply carries it. http://www.fiberglasssupply.com/Product_Catalog/BooksVideoCat/booksvideocat.html Hope that helps. Dee P.S. Anybody else read this book? What is your opinion of the instruction?

You never can seem to get them just right, though I did get one to work real nice but it was broken only in the tail in front of the fin box. Here is what I do. Try and get all of the sand/water out of the two halfs. I use a hot glue gun and stick a small amount on one half and stick them back together. Now cut back the glass on each side of the brake back at least 4 inches(2 on each side of the brake). Cut all the way through the foam on each side of the stringer using a wide enough blade to allow a piece of plywood to slide in(I use modle airplane 8 ply you can get this as a toy/model store). This you glue in with resin I use sanding. Cut this down so it is just below the foam/stringer. Feather out the glass on each side and lay in the glass until you get it up to the right hight. As I said they never seem to be the same, but some times you can get lucky. And I do mean lucky it does not seem to matter how good you are luck is what you need. I’m not sure I would even try it on a short board. It is a lot of work as you can see.
it worked thanks guys. its almost perfect too.
