Anyone got a copy of either of these films or got a good memory. I have been speaking with a fellow who made a board in 1958 based on one of these movies. He can’t recall the movie name, but said there was some footage of a guy on a bellyboard who he thought was George Greenough (possible but unlikely). Any info is appreciated,

Probably not Greenough. He rode kneeboards. Val Valentine has appeared in a few films riding a belly/paipo board. ???
I bet PPK would know a few other names from HI who rode prone in those days.

Thanks. It was only after I read your email a second time that I worked out who PPk is. Peter has chased some pre 60s history for me already. I know Val Valentine’s Paipo Nui boards were produced in the mid 60s and I am hoping to find out about his boards from the daughter of David Swanson, who inherited them. I’m also hoping some paipo footage will become available later this year/next year. This is footage of John Waidelich & Jim Growney in the early 60s in Hawaii. John’s son Stig is working on this.

Waidelich was the other guy who came to mind. I recall seeing shots of him in Surfer Mag.
