Buffing & Resin Odor Emmisions

Hi,

I have a question about buffing. I used rubbing compound to buff a gloss coat. All went well but I’m noticing an odor emission from the resin. It’s been about a week and I still smell it.

I’d like to display this board indoors but the smell is nauseating (and probably toxic).

Does anyone know how long it takes for this odor (emissions) to subside?

Mahalo!

The styrene residue in gloss resin can hang around for a while. I’ve smelled it in new boards for about a week after finishing. Put it in outdoors in the shade for a couple of days and wash it with dish soap.

PeteC,

Thanks so much for your advice! I’ll try that.
