Are there any other fins involved or is it a single fin. What is the width and style of your tail section? Are you a nose rider? Please post some pictures.
Note: You can buy the supplies to make your own fin for less than $20. This site has a ton of info in the archives on fin construction.
Hey Kid:
Less than $20 for a longboard fin is a bit
unreasonable. People gotta make a living…
The general rule of thumb for a single fin is that
an 8’ board takes an 8" fin, a 9’ board a 9", etc.
If you can find a 9" fin for less than $30, buy it.
Check ebay & fiberglass supply. Their lexan fins
are cheaper than fiberglass and what you might
want for your first handshape. Just my 2C.
Epac,
Oh you tease! What does the base look like? It looks like a hatchet met a flex fin and gave birth to some nice curves!
Surfkid,
How much do you weigh? If you do go with a big flex fin (I’m thinking skip frye or josh farberow flex fin), if you are light weight, you won’t get any of the flex. Check ebay for cheap fins…but $20 is on the low end…
