Cali Bound....

I'm leaving for San Diego on friday. This will be my first trip to Cali for this Florida local. I'm going with family but refuse to leave my boards behind. With that said i'll be flying solo and was hoping to link up with some locals to surf with.If anyone's down to show me around or just get in a session hit me up.

Thanks, James

Be sure to expose yourself to San Diego surf culture with a visit to BIRD'S SURF SHED.   The place will blow your mind.   It will be worth your time.

If you're in no. county I can dial you in, although the forecast looks marginal for the weekend. What kind of waves and zoo-scene do you like?

I left you a PM from your first inquiry. What part of the city will you be staying? Its getting to be windy, chilly, springtime around here.

I'm staying at a hotel near the navy base around San Diego fwy. and 8th. It's actually on 700 National City Blvd. I guess thats a little north of Chula Vista. I'm not 100% sure what the family schedule is looking like. I just know that some of the spots like blacks and trestles are a little difficult to navigate if you dont know exactly where to go. Just looking to meet some cool people and surf as you locals will know what spots will be working the best based off your wind and swell direction. If i was going with friends I'd be up for more exploration. But since I'll probably just be getting dropped off for a couple hours I don't have time to guess. Or if I meet up with anyone out there I'm all game to ride out with them for a session. I'll just be solo and don't really know where to go

Thanks guys,

James

Nuff said, you need to go to Imperial Beach. The swell is small, but there will still be fun waves there and IB thumps. Make sure you go early, as this place gets blown out early. I won't post where exactly to go, cause the locs will kill me. PM me, and I might even drive down there myself and pick you up. I used to live near where you are saying, and IB is as good (if not better than) Blacks. I know both well.

dcasey has a good program going for mr. combat
