Just throwing this out there if anyone wants some. I found a vendor who has Cordura camouflage pattern in 330 denier for less than $3.00 a yard. That would be 5 oz. and a yard is 60 inches wide.
Got any pics?
I’ve really been thinking about your builds lately… I’ve got a couple blanks I was going to get working on soon and was gonna shoot you a message about how you would suggest “glassing” them… I don’t think I’m up for the camo but I would be up for some regular white or another solid color.
if it is light in color ( I live in hot Florida) I would like to try a board with it. Def put me down for some if you get it and I will pay you for your trouble and postage.
all the best.
Its a 50 yard minimum order. I’d be good with 10 yards, so I’d need another 4 guys to split the roll. Its military surplus camo, so I wouldn’t do too many with it
Chris, you’re only about an hour and a half north of me. Let’s go for a surf and go over the details. Maybe even a surf and a lamination. Do you have a vac bag set up?
That’s pretty cool.
That’s crazy wakesurf. Don’t leave it next to the hedge or you won’t find it again.
That’s crazy! In a good way crazy. How’d you get that printed?
OK, cool. There’s three of us. ( if its the desert print). Two more?
Dan at cerex had sum left over from a job
Hi everysurfer , put me in for 10 yds if you tell me how to use it . T
OK, gbzausa.
First google swaylocks, modern laminates, everysurfer. That thread will get you started. Then pm me for finer points.
I’d do a how to thread, but too much drama when I go into details.
Count me in!
hey mark,
i’m in oz and want to try some of this stuff, having trouble sourcing cordura branded material over here though. what would be a similar nylon to use? have you tried ripstop?
If you look on cordura.com then click on fabrics, then click where to buy, the options are Asia North America, South America, and Europe. A PDF comes up of vendors. Unfortunately most are large volume sales. In the U.S., I only found two that sell cut yardage.
If there is enough interest, I’m thinking about becoming the third.
As for rip stop, yes, Cordura makes rip stop, but not all rip stop is Cordura. But again, any mill that is weaving nylon 6,6 is a good start. And then just find the right weight and weave.
And shipping from here to there is silly expensive. The shipping is more than the cloth.
Maybe if you ask Huie where he gets his fabric. That might be a start if he is willing to share.
Hey pirate , if the stuff arives befor the end of Feb I will bring you some I will be in Brisbane area in March , you will have to pick it up . T
**hey every’’
i once offered the dicks in aus a chance to buy some of my fabrics
Buuut and that is a big but’'— they are either smarter than me or did not like my price?**
**any way- any one shipping u.s.a to aus will lose $30 au every hundred ------------ its time for you guys to buy aus
the pic from wake----- i think he means cerex orion and yes it can be dyed don’t know about printing?**
if i can report one thing bad about nylon it will yellow badly unless you have a plan in place
**i had this wonderful net fabric they use in shoes when i went to get more i needed to get a palette and yes it was in china
now the us dollar is up for us here --no can do mr china man
actually there resin transfer fins in epoxy ( unlike most they do in polyester) have reached the price were i could almost break my molds out and compete with them
interesting times indeed’’
by the way you should discuss with others your cordura exploits why not?**
cheers huie
