Looking for a glasser in the New England area that can glass epoxy boards. Any suggestions would be great.
not sure if he does epoxy, but david levy from levy surf designs may be able to help you out… not sure his contact info, but im sure you can find it
but it is always more fun to glass it youself
That chick from DC … Rachel … don’t remember her ID on here … she did some sweet epoxy stuff maybe you can hire a starving college student … help out a fellow surfer and get ur boards at the same time?
Ask her … see if she’s got time. She’s going to school in Rhode Island.
If you still need help after Jan 20th and can get down to Rhode Island, I’ll glass your board for you. Let me know and I’ll bring up some squeegees and stuff.
And if you don’t already have resin I can provide that at cost if I have some left over.
But what everyone says is true, it really is more fun to glass it yourself. It’s actually my favorite part of the board-building process, I don’t mind shaping, but I absolutely hate sanding.
Not to change the subject, but have you been getting any (surf) out there Rachel?
I was in NorCal for New Year’s and pretty much got my hinder kicked all over the place by mother nature in stuff I shouldn’t have been out in … but it was a blast …
Hope to get back to 'Gansett sometime soon. I love that break … and maybe I should take a lesson from Peter if he’s around Sunday’s session reminded me my skills could use some improvement
Billy
I can get to Rhode Island anytime, I’m in Maine so it’s no big deal. I have a 7’6 that I shaped and a 7’8 that my friend shaped and they both are epoxy. Would like to get in touch with you. Thanks-
Well I’m off for winter break, but I checked the cam at gansett yesterday and there were some clean waist-chest high waves rolling in. Bit cold, but it would be worth it. At the moment I’m in South Carolina enjoying surfing without gloves. The waves are smaller and less organized, but I get to surf a mile of beach break all by myself. Totally worth it.
ATV, shoot me a pm and we can work out arrangements. Also, where in Maine are you? I spend a large part of most summers on Sebago Lake.
Alright, I’m off to check the warm, uncrowded, with my luck completely flat, surf.
