Im SO tired of dragging around 3 different boards and their bags! I
m always needing at least “one” that was left back at home, and all this for lousy small crowded waves! Im SO tired of wondering WHICH 3 of my 11+ board collection I should
ve taken to the beach “just in case” When I go surfing Im SO sick of being paranoid, always watching my car all the time ( more than the waves) up in the parking lot!! If it isn
t a car clout, then for sure its the 120+ degrees heat building up inside my van!! I
m SO burned out from having to repair all teh dings on my 11+ boards! Im SO sick of searching around for 45 to 50+ fins and 9 or 10? leashes and 33 bars (last count, not adding the useable chunks) of wax! Yeah there it is, stuck in the rug. MOST OF ALL I
M SO SICK OF HOPELESSLY TRYING TO KEEP TRACK OF ALL THE “BROS” COMING AROUND AND WANTING TO “BORROW” ALL MY STUFF!! I`VE PROBABLY “LOST” MORE THAN I CAN REMEMBER!>>>>>Should I buy more property insurance, build a larger garage or JUST GIVE THEM ALL THE F$%#&!#K AWAY AND START OVER AGAIN!!! AAAAAAAARRRRGGGGHHHH!!!

you can donate any of thse 11+ boars to me. i sure can use them in 1-2 ft surf in jax. [wink]
You can donate some old single fin to a poor spanish surfer that haven’t acces to that kind of stuff… ;D I honestly say what i do: i wake up in the morning and think “ummm, if it’s small i want to ride my heavy 9’8’’ noserider… and if there are good waves i want to ride my Eaton…”, no matter wich one of my boards suit best for the conditions, i just let me feelings go. Good waves!, Coque. PS: the single fin that you are going to donate could be a diamond tail for example… ;D

Of the 6 boards in my active quiver,2- 6’6" modern fishes, 2- 7’0" Bonzers (thrusters) and 2- 9’0" longboards, I take one short and one long. I usually end up taking the newer of the two fishes, which is two years old, and my latest 9’0" modern single fin longboard (I’ll take my other retro styled 9’0" when the waves are real small). My two 7’0’s though they ride great, have been gathering dust for awhile now. Two boards make it simple yet still having options.
Sorry, I can’t relate. I live on Tybee Island ,Georgia. The surf sucks so bad here sometimes I’ll drive the 90 miles to Jax just to surf the waves other wouldn,t even go out in. When there are waves I,m so stoked to just surf I don’t really care which of my 6 boards I,ve chosen. Besides, with the exception of an old Bruce Jones rounded pin ( it has to many memories and is simi-retired ) all of my boards are for sale. As I sell them it gives me a reason to make another! Right now I have about four boards in my head wanting to come out! Surf to live, live to surf…

So Nick, you want some cheese with that whine!!! or should we just call a waaaambulance. ? I think you should just go surfing & try to remember why you started doing it in the first place.
No. I currently only own a single surfboard, a Nev 6’10" ‘big guy’ shortboard. I use it in anything from kneehigh to 2xO, although it need about waisthigh surf with a little power to really comes to life and it’s a bit sketchy in anything above overhead and steep(but that might just be me). Yes, it sucks to only have one board when it’s really small, in particular when you end up sitting way outside with 5 longboarders from Germany. That’s why that huge peice of foam is waiting in my basement. Personally for where I surf I only think I need two boards, one for poor surf and one for good surf. Might be good with third for those ‘ohmigoditsbigtoday’ days. regards, Håvard

Your last suggestion (got snipped somehow), about getting rid of the mountain of “evidence of your commitment” (my snotty quotes), is called in other realms “simplifying”. Perhaps it is also spelled better in other realms too, but you get the drift… You could always save a board for when you regain your perspective, and save any boards with sentimental attachment, and dump the rest. You really can only ride one at a time anyway. Same with leashes. Stash it all away. Something many have done, sometimes every summer in recent years, is just take swim fins and wetsuit. It doesn’t get much simpler. You don’t need a giant van or SUV to haul all the gear, and there is no problem babysitting equipment. If the surf is blown, go see a movie and forget about it. If it’s glassy on the way home from work, park the car and hop in. You can park and walk to places you might not otherwise go to. Eventually you’ll crave a different feeling. More float for colder days, something with carry to get past sections, or something to stand on for a change of scenery. Then you can go dig around the garage and rediscover what you already have… Nels

Somewhere it was said that one should keep ALL one’s posessions (that’s EVERYTHING!) to less than 2000 things. A surfboard is a thing, a leash is a thing, a knife and a fork are each a thing. Want something new? Get rid of something old, or don’t get it at all. Move on to a boat-that’ll make you take inventory. Sell your 11 boards and take the proceeds to buy three new ones. Join the Peace Corps. Count your blessings.
Håvard, Where are you? Denmark?

I didn’t have my board with me one time(felt really weird), ended up bodysurfing and had a blast. Maybe I could make room for an 11’ source of anxiety and help you out! 8)

I`m SO burned out from having to repair all teh dings on my 11+ boards! Keep your voice DOWN! They might hear you! You might hurt their feelings! My boards are my friends! Before I go to bed every night I kiss each and every one of my 12 board friends and tuck them in to their board bags, thanking God for giving me such wonderful loyal and loving companions! l8tr
