would it be worth while glassing on some carbon strips onto the tail of a brand new board to stop it crushing?
You’d have to sand off the hotcoat resin and get into the weave in order to lay the strips down and then a layer of cloth over those as well, hotcoat, then sand. You can pretty much do anything to a board but you have to ask yourself if it’s worth the time/money?
maybe just do double 6 instead

ok thanks guys, i just found out the new board i bought has a single 4 on the deck! with a 4 tail patch, extremely light glassing, its a small wave board but i don't think i'll be taking it out in anything big.
i thought board felt super light when i bought it.

Yep, superlight, and super disposable.
Treat it with respect and it might last a years.
