What the best way to measure catalyst? I’m pouring about a pint of laminating coat but can’t get the catalyst right on.
I’m in HB to the temp is perfect.
thanks guys

bodi bottle. or go steal a graduated cylinder from your local high school science class. or get an eye-dropper and just count the drops.
resin brand and type (summer, winter)?
oooooooops sorry…
I use for long time a medicine graduate little cup u can buy from chemistry shop, or 50cc syringe
I like to use syringes:

A good mix ratio chart:
http://www.fiberglasssupply.com/pdf/miscellaneous/MEKPChart.pdf
I measure out the resin in a metered/graduated paint bucket, then add any additives (tint, cabosil, etc), and then the catylist.
and use a wire egg wisk (kitchen tool) to mix with - Much better than wooden paint stirrers.
Best,

Just pour it straight into the mixing bucket. If it takes three days to go off, it’s not enough. If it starts smoking and hardens to a caramel brown color and splits and cracks, you used too much.
get my MEK from fiberglass florida. comes in various sized bottles. the cap on all the various bottles are the same size.
1 cap per quart for lam and sanding.
2 caps per quart for straight silmar finishing.
a little more if it’s cold. a little less if it’s hot.
florida cold: under 70
florida hot: over 90.
If you use UV lam do you need to add a catalyst to the lam
