(correct me if Im wrong)This is a board , he shaped and kept secret up until a competition , of which he blew everyone away when competitors saw it, and again when he ripped on it …winning the comp.

This is According to the book "MP the life of Michael Peterson.a great read!

I became a big fan of him because of how he shaped his own boards …pioneering his own style, which was so fast and powerful… the complete surfer I reckon Shame about his drug addition, but hey you cant take away how good he was

this board is 6’2 X 19 3/4 X 2 3/4

Those photos were taken at last years Mick Mock auction at Mona Vale pub on Sydneys Northers beaches.

If I remember that board was auctioned as a charity item with all monies going to MP.

It was a brand new board to MP’s design and authorised by MP. platty.

Yes everything you said was spot on!, I asked for permission to take the photos from Mic Mock. for my own recrd cause I love his boards My intention was not to replicate a copy to sell.etc.

I think the board went for around $1500, Mic Mock refused to take any commision from MP wanting every single cent going to Michael and his Mum Joan which I thought was very good of him. Respect to Mic

knowing Hicksy’s [and , some would say, my !] penchant for ‘unusual’ boards , a shorter version [I’d like a 6’2-6’6" , I think] of the “Moonrocket” may one day happen…

Im another bloody kiwi living in sydney, maroubra, I flew away from the ’ ice cream’ headache winters of the south island.

One my next boards soon will be a 6’3 version of the rocket, theres just so many styles boards to make … not enough time,

but I just gave Hicksy [Grant] the IDEA , that’s all . HE did all the shaping , spraying , glassing , sanding …

I got to ride it [the “moonrocket launching” thread]. Good luck with talking to MP.
