Chef Desperate for Vacation Digs

Hello everybody. My fiance and I bought tix to Oahu, dialed in the rental car, and were zeroing in on a nice little Makaha rental when a lucrative business deal fell thru and now we’re in a tough position. I am a professional chef and my fiance, for lack of a better term, is a professional caterer. We work in the concert industry and our company is California based, called Sound Bites. We’re very small, and business is word of mouth, so no website, but you may see the website for one of our concert series at the Ironstone Vineyards website.

We’re very neat and tidy, and we’d be willing to plan and prepare dinners at the house in exchange for a room from Nov 15 thru Nov 25. I am what I would call a decent longboarder, but I am not bringing a stick w/ me. My fiance is learning and can stand-up occasionally. While we don’t plan on focusing on purely surfing, we would feel most privileged to be guided to a couple spots anyone might wish to show us (naturally we’re going to hit Waikiki for the birthplace, but anywhere else). We both travel light, too.

I haven’t been back to Hawaii in 17 years. I am familiar w/ some of Kauai, Maui, and little of Oahu. We’re pretty embarrassed at this situation and we appreciate anyone who might be able to help us out. Obviously, we’re open to all kinds of situations, and we’re not location choosy.

Thanks for reading!! And deepest Mahalo.

I guess I wasn’t that clear in the first post. Just looking for anybody anywhere on Oahu who might be able to help a couple of nice people out. We do not want to use your boards as we’ll be renting. We can be as ‘out of your way’ as you require us to be. It looks as though we’re going to have to try camping, but we’re not sure how ten days straight in a tent is going to pan out, but we’re sure not too bummed that we’ll be camping in Hawaii.

Thanks to the over 100 people who have checked this, and if anyone feels like some gourmet food right in the home please contact us, even if it’s only for a couple nights! We leave LAX this Saturday morning, the 15th of November.

Mahalo!

Hey everyone! Well, nobody’s interested in trading just yet, but we’re super stoked anyway and it looks like camping is going to be just as much fun. Hit us anytime you want as we’re in Oahu from Nov 15 to Nov 25. Surfing, cooking, hiking or socializing, we’re just looking forward to a great trip.

We can recommend Malaekahana campground on the northeast tip near Kahuku. Coolest campground ever. Save money on java by buying a mug from Coffee Gallery in Haleiwa and getting a free cup of brew coffee each day. Blue Water Shrimp next to Ted’s Bakery has a great Ahi plate for a cheap price.

And I accidentally donated some Von Zippers to Kaena Point when I tucked them into a niche in the rocks on the southwest tip of the point and went for a swim. Forgotten but hopefully not lost. If you find them, enjoy!

Great trip and thanks to everyone for reading our hookup posts. We still have a few days left and I’ve already had some fun in the ocean, got my greatest wipeout of my life, and fell even more deeply in love w/ my incredible fiance, Sarah.

Peace, Chivo
