IMHO you moved surfing closer to the critical part of the wave and took great risks both with your equipment and how you surfed. You did things on a single that are still to be matched. My hat is off to you as one of the true leaders of surfing, lighting the way toward the future.
Thank you for continuing to carry the torch for unity in our surfing community. You have made and are making a huge difference mate.
Hope your getting some tow in sessions these days.

You guys know how I feel about institutions. This one has ignored one of the sports greatest for far too long as it is…so I say…congratulations to Cheyne as one of the greatest surfing champions of all time and all around good guy…but the cudos from an institution is only the late recognition of something many of us have known for years. Good one Halcyon. Best of wishes Cheyne. Hey…maybe they are finally getting it?

It has been enlightening and interesting, to say the least, watching your astounding surfing and free thinking explorations into surfboard design.
Todays professional surfing circuit is so much poorer for the lack of non-conformists and innovators such as yourself.
For me, you will always be held in equal regard with MR and Simon Anderson as the most complete surfers and innovators that surfing has ever seen - and most probably will ever see.
