Chicago Electric/Drillmaster 92623 variable-speed polisher/sander

What do you mean by cardboard and glue both sides of the velcro?

Do I toss the Chicago brand backing plate, 7" soft pad and all the hook and loop 7" sanding pads and get all new stuff from foam EZ?

If I keep the stock buffer pad, can I glue the hook and loop pads to it? What happens when I tear off the sanding pads to change grits?

II’m going to be doing everything from ding repairs to glassing and buffing gloss coats. Sorry if I’m missing something hear, I’m new to

glassing boards so I really don’t have a clue what to do here.

I know the thread is a little older, but if anyone is interested, this sander/polisher just went on sale at HF for $29.99. I received an email coupon today and I’ll pick one up tomorrow at lunch.

Went and picked one up on my lunchbreak along with a smaller 5" disc assortment for more detailed areas. If it helps me clean up my board to finally get the nose back on, then I’ll be happy. Any more usage than that is pure bonus.

I went in and bought my 9.99 grinder today.  Only it cost me 14.99.  After buying all the attachments ie. compressor, hoses, and a few other things I got out of there for a little over 200 bucks.  I need to stay away from places like that…  Mike

Woops, I thought I was on the right angle grinder thread.  Mike

Mike for a Stand up GUY like yourself $200 is CHUMP CHANGE!

Kind regards,

Thanks Sding.  I think.  I was laughing.  All that money so I can use a 15.00 tool to grind laps. Stupid. I don’t NEED another tool to grind laps.  I’ve used sanding blocks, random orbital, dremel tools, an old sureform to take them down, and 60 grit by hand. Dam you McDing!  Kidding.  I’ve wanted another compressor anyway and I picked up a pack of 6 or 7 scissors for ten bucks too. It was fun.  I surfed early, went to a weapons class, watched a jr. pee wee football game, bought tools I really don’t need, got some work done in my classroom, and just finished a night walk in the hills with one of the dogs.  Today was a damn good day!  Bed.
