ChipFish Influence

I’ve been reading so many Posts from ChipFish that I’m starting to think like the Chipper.

I installed an extra FCS plug for fin movement and then took some old glass-on fins and cut and sanded them to fit the plugs. But white fins are boring so I painted them with spray can paint. Being “Under the Influence” I couldn’t stop there so I took some old glass-on long board fins and modified them to fit a fin box. I cut up an old screwdriver to make the pins.Too much fun!

next time try using screws for the pins, just screw them in threw the hole and snip them off on each end. cheaper and easier. works just as good and none could ever tell unless you had the fin out of the board.

You can also try using a little one tab fin in front of the regular double tab ones

Sean

You have just opened a huge can of worms, and let the cat out of the bag.

You now have freedom, and a multitude of things to try.

Have fun.

No don’t do it, I’ve seen what it’s done to Chip first hand and it’s not a pretty sight…

Good idea Gatordave ,stainless steel screws wouldn’t rust.

Good idea Chano ,I’ll try that next.

Hey Wildy ,Shipman gave me an old box of fins that he got from Redsurf when he went out of business so I have lots of stuff to mess with…

The black fin came straight out of the box and I sanded it smooth and coated it with Acrylic Floor finish…

The Orange fin came from an old 70’s board that my best friends neighbor gave to us.

Ray, Redd just called, he said he wants those fin back. I told him to late, I got $1000 for them on Ebay… Naw!..

It’s great to see you putting them to good use… Your nick name should be El Mago.

Haha! Sometimes after reading a few pages of sways I find myself in the shed molding fin bases and making skaties. haha thats ‘chipsfluence’.

…and I might say to myself ,

"my God , what have I done ? " …

Ray, you COULD try putting a plug or two OUTSIDE the existing 3 side plugs if you want , to have four and five fin setup options , too…

just a thought …

I’m not surprised to see you offering more encouragement, Chip.

Will it ever end?

Never.
