ive got a 611’r clark foam blank with standard rocker at home. finally getting around to shaping it. if someone out there has experience using this blank, where would be be best position to cut about a 6’6’ out. i want a fairly flat rocker.

I overheard my dad telling my mom that he would measure forward from the tail of the blank, 6’6", saw it off there, and save what’s left for the dings. Then he bent over laughing, as he went out the back door to his fairly flat rocker … have fun

I’d center it on the blank, i.e. take off about 2 inches from each end.

My favorite board is a 6’8" cut from a 6’11"R. Pushed the template all the way to the rear. It’s real flat. You can toe the fins in a little more than you usually do if your going flatter than what your used to. Jim Phillips describes this approach in his video.
