Clark Foam Weight

Aloha, I know this is an extremely simple question to you guys … But can someone please tell me the weight of Clark foam Blanks … Per square foot of course . I am wondering how much lighter it is than the epoxy board type blanks . I know there is different weights to clark foam …blue , green…etc. but the most used one is _______ Lbs. per square ft. ??? Thanks

you got me to thinking, what do those blanks weigh? so anyway, i busted out the clark catalog and this is what it says, and i quote, “supergreen, the heaviest/strongest of the four stock weights. superblue, approximately 5% lighter than supergreen. new superlight, approximately 9.5% lighter than supergreen. ultralight, approximately 12% lighter than supergreen. This is our experimental weight and is subject to density or weight change without notice.” sorry, that’s all they give you. i’ll say this, go with superblue and adjust finished board weight by amount of glass used. works pretty well.

Blue is around 3 lb, maybe a little under. However it is more complicted than that, it matters on the blanks volume. There is a density gradiant, and the thicker blanks tend to have a little lighter overall density and the close tolerance blanks have a little higher density. One of the main reason they came out with Superlight in the early/mid 90’s is the S/B close tolerance blanks were too heavy. Sluggo

Remember that there is varience between each blank size and even from one blank to another of the same size. As such these are approximations. Also this is not real fresh information but is somewhat over 5 years old so there may be some conjecture as to the accuracy. In our tests the weights went like this: Green 3.05 Blue 2.85 Superlight 2.60 Ultralight 2.35
