Cleaning straight tint/pigment off the deck before hotcoat?

Had a major f&ck up on the deck on my current board. There is now tint/pigment on the deck. I dont know if i didnt mix it well enough, but i need to clean it all off before i hotcoat. I have at hand acetone, and methylated spirits, which is better??. Would the acetone soften the lam coat??.

try acetone in a small spot

how the heck did you do that?

Ok mate, i’ll get some , and try it out. I just ran out haha.

As for the deck, i stupidly thought it would be a good idea to mix up some tinted and pigmented resin, and drizzle it over the lam job, for more colour. I was happy with how it looked, but when i went back to the shed 24hrs later, some of it hadn’t hardened, so i had light blue tint, and pigment on the deck. F&CK!!.

I just tried the methylated spirit, didn’t do much, definately didn’t break the tint/pigment down. I dont really want to put a hotcoat on until its done. Im not worried about having a muddy hotcoat, i just dont want the same thing to happen.

I made so many mistakes on this board, soooo many, but i learnt some things too, which i suppose is a good thing haha.
